Ofcom has today published its research, which it conducted with parents and children as part of its consultation to restrict food and drink television advertising to children.

A coalition of the food, soft drink and advertising industries have jointly signed and submitted a response to Ofcom’s invitation to propose a new ‘package 4’.

Ofcom has published an update to its consultation document on television advertising of food and drink products to children of 28 March 2006.
Ofcom has further concluded that ban of food and drink advertising before the 9pm watershed would be disproportionate.
The consultation closed on 30 June 2006.
