Marketing Food and Health: A changing media landscape
Labour Party Conference Fringe Event
26 September 2006
A turnout of delegates, politicians, industry representatives, consumer groups and other interested parties left standing room only at the Food Advertising Unit’s fringe event on Marketing Food and Health, held in association with the Smith Institute at last month’s Labour Party Conference.
The event opened with a speech from the Health Minister, Caroline Flint MP, followed by views from advertising, broadcasting and consumer group perspectives.
- Caroline Flint MP, Minister for Health
- Andrew Brown, Chairman, Committee of Advertising Practice
- Tony Palmer, Managing Director, Kellogg’s
- Philip Cullum, Deputy Chief Executive, National Consumer Council
- Nick Wilson, Director of Children’s Television, Five
Lord Haskel, Deputy Speaker, House of Lords then expertly chaired the debate, taking comments and questions from the floor, which proved a mix of emotive, lively and intelligent discussion.
