The 7th and successful FAU conference: "Promoting Healthier lifestyles - what works and what doesn't?" included a return to the political dimension as well as presentation and launch of related research and initiatives. Several MPs including Debra Shipley, Sandra Gidley and Chris Grayling spoke about their personal views on advertising to children and the political dimension surrounding the debate. The conference coincided with the publication of FAU research by Charles Gallichan on the Government's role in creating a healthy lifestyle through public policy campaigns. The MediaSmart initiative was also presented highlighting the importance of educating the consumer about media literacy in general. The conference was well-attended and received widespread media coverage.
